How it works
The math is straightforward. First the bed area is computed: area = length × width in square feet (or taken directly from the area field). Then the overlap allowance is applied: area with overlap = area × (1 + overlap % / 100). Each roll's coverage is roll width × roll length, and the rolls to buy is ceil(area with overlap ÷ roll coverage).
For example, a 10×20-foot bed is 200 square feet. A 3×50-foot roll covers 150 square feet, so the exact need is 200 ÷ 150 = 1.33 rolls, rounded up to 2 rolls. With the default 10% overlap allowance the area becomes 220 square feet (1.47 exact rolls), which still rounds up to 2 rolls. The cost estimate is simply rolls × price per roll, labeled as an estimate because store prices and available roll sizes vary.
