The story multiplier is 1.0 for a one-story home, 1.10 for two stories, and 1.20 for three or more stories — reflecting the extra ladder work, setup time, and safety equipment taller homes require.
The multiplier applies to professional installs only. In DIY mode the calculator shows materials cost only (length × per-foot material estimate), since your labor is free. Per-foot figures are national-average estimates: local labor rates, regional pricing, and extras like corner pieces or downspout filters can move the final quote.
